We little knew that day that God was going to call your name,
In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same
It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone,
for part of us went with you, the day God called you home.
You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide,
And though we cannot see you, you are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same,
but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.

2. “You Were A Blessing To Us All” (For Children)

You were a blessing to us all, you were a special child.
And we’re so glad God sent you to be with us for a while.
You filled our home with happiness and made our life complete.
The time we had with you was far too short, but oh so sweet.

Some things we don’t find easy to accept or understand…
Till we realize they’re part of our creator’s plan.
Now it comforts us to know you’re with the angels up above.
While in our hearts we hold you close surrounded always by your love.

And now that you’re in heaven we who are left behind
Must realize God loves children, angels are hard to find.

If tears could build a stairway and memories were a lane,
We would walk right up to heaven & bring you back again.
No farewell words were spoken, no time to say goodbye,
You were gone before we knew it, and only God knows why.
Our hearts still ache in sadness, and secret tears still flow;
What it meant to lose you, no one will ever know.
But now we know you want us, to mourn for you no more …
To remember all the happy times, life still has much in store.
Since you’ll never be forgotten, we pledge to you today
A cherished place within our hearts is where you’ll always stay.

Please pick a bunch for me.
Place them in my mother’s arms
And tell her they’re from me.

And when she turns to smile,

But there is an ache within my heart
That will never go away.
They say memories are golden
Well maybe this is true;
I never wanted memories
I only wanted you.

Our baby plays with angel toys that money cannot buy.
Who are we, to wish that you had known this world of strife?
Now play on, our baby, you have eternal life!
At night when all is silent & sleep forsakes our eyes,
We’ll hear your tiny footsteps come running to our side.
Your little hands caress us so tenderly & sweet,
We’ll breathe a prayer & close our eyes
And embrace you in our sleep.
Feelings we will treasure, sometimes they’ll make us sad …
Because, our little baby, we are still your Mom & Dad.

God looked around his garden and found an empty place,
He looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest,
God’s garden must be beautiful, he only takes the best.
He saw the road was getting rough and the hills were hard to climb,
So he closed your weary eyelids and whispered “Peace Be Thine.”
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone …
For part of us went with you, the day God called you home.

7. “One Mother”

You can only have one mother, patient kind and true …
No other friend in all the world, will be the same to you.
When other friends foresake you, to mother you will return.
For all her loving kindness, she asks nothing in return.
As we look upon her picture, sweet memories we recall,
Of a face so full of sunshine, and a smile for one and all.
Sweet Jesus take this message to our dear mother up above,
Tell her how we miss her, and give her all our love.

To My Dearest Family & Friends:
Some things I’d like to say,
But first of all to let you know that I arrived okay.
I’m writing this from heaven, where I dwell with God above;
Where there’s no more tears or sadness, just eternal love.

That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and he said “I welcome you!”
Then God gave me a list of things to do,
And foremost on that list of mine, is to watch and care for you.
One thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o’re,
I’m closer to you now, than I ever was before.

And now I am contented that that my life it was worthwhile,
Knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
And when it’s time for you to go from that body to be free,
Remember, you’re not going; you are coming here to me.
Know I will always love you from this land way up above,

I have so many things to see and do.

But now it’s time to travel on alone.

I’m following the path God laid for me.
I took his hand when I heard him call

I found that peace at the close of the day.
If my parting has left a void
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship started, a laugh, a kiss
Ah yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life’s been full, I savored much
Good friends, good times, a loved ones touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all to brief
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
